7 October 2022 Blog: my week in the news

This week it was Mental Health Day and also World Teachers’ Day. I think both days are so important. I enjoyed learning about this year’s theme for World Teachers’ Day – “the transformation of education begins with teachers.” I think that is very true as teachers play such an important role in your life. I have been so lucky to have some amazing teachers so I want to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to all my teachers who have supported me and encouraged me and taught me so much.

Lots of schools here in Dubai marked World Mental Health Day by wearing yellow. I think it is very important to raise awareness about mental health problems as just because someone is feeling ok physically it doesn’t always mean that they are ok and it is important to be aware of that and to make sure people do not feel embarrassed about it.
