30 September 2022 Blog: my week in the news

My news story this week was about the UK Pound falling, which means it's worth less than other currencies. It was interesting to learn what this means and why it's bad news, although it is very complicated. I found the story about the floods in Pakistan very worrying, and to make things worse I have been watching the news today about Hurricane Ian which is causing huge problems in Florida. I do worry that climate change is causing these problems. Whilst Pakistan has had so much rain, we in the UK have had none! Our grass is getting a bit greener now that autumn is here, but it has been so dry all summer the plants have had no water at all.

I do think NASA are clever to try to divert an asteroid, it makes sense to practice this in case they ever need to do it for real!
