Why is the news important to me? What did I learn this week?

This week there has been a lot going on. The parties of Downing Street and Boris Johnson are still in the news, a very popular guessing game is changing and its Chinese New Year!

If you haven’t already heard a very popular game, Wordle,  has changed ownership. Wordle is a popular game where you have six attempts to guess the five letter word. Wordle was created by Josh Wardle to play during lockdown, but since it became very popular, he felt it was too overwhelming and sold it to The New York Times. To access New York Times, you need to pay a subscription and so people like me, who love Wordle, are very worried that they will put Wordle behind a pay wall.

In other news, Happy Chinese New Year! Although there are still restrictions due to Covid, it’s great to see many different celebrations for this great time. If you didn’t know already, this year is the Year of the Water Tiger, which only comes every 60 years. In school, we created origami tigers to commemorate this new year. People born in the Year of the Tiger are brave, competitive, unpredictable and confident. In fact, I was born in the Year of the Tiger in 2010.
