24th September Blog: my week in the news

I really enjoyed finding out about all our news stories this week. For once we didn't have anything that was too sad! I love stories about science and think its amazing what scientists can do. Like, finding a cure for the common cold (although i still didn't really understand how they did this and couldn't pronounce the name of the gene they got rid of!) and digging through layers of rock to find out how ocean life started 466 million years ago. That was another really hard to pronounce phrase - the Great OrdovicianBiodiversificationEvent! I wonder who thought of that name! It was quite funny too hearing about the golden toilet, i don't know why anyone would want one of these but i think it's funny someone tried to take it and the people at the art gallery were a bit silly not to look after it better if it was worth so much money. It was good to hear about Climate Action too, but i really hope they actually solve the problem soon and don't just keep talking about it. In the summer we collected so many bags of rubbish from the beach near my house.

I also like knowing about awareness days like International Day of Peace and Roald Dahl Day. I wonder if anyone will name a day after me in the future, that would be super cool!
