Why is the news important to me? What did I learn this week?

I was so happy to hear this week about the positive developments in the search for a vaccine to protect us against this horrible virus! It sounds like scientists have been working really hard to try to find a vaccine and it's amazing there are several possible options now that all look like they might work.  Some of the vaccines might be ready even by December which is really incredible, I so hope the vaccines work and then life can get back to normal as soon as possible. We are so lucky here in the UAE that our school has stayed open all term even though there are lots of restrictions, but i was sad reading about Italy where children are now protesting against distance learning. Distance learning is really tricky and schools are super important so i hope those children get to go back to school very soon.

It was  also interesting to hear about how petrol cars will be banned soon in the UK which is a really big change, but a positive one as electric cars are so much better for the environment. I still think it's funny to think of cars charging in the same way you charge a phone!

It was also good to raise awareness of Anti-Bullying week which is a really important topic. I enjoyed our school's Odd Socks Day and it's really good to have a week where we all think about friendships and bullying and make sure we are all doing everything we can to stop bullying.
