Why is the news important to me? What did I learn this week?

The news was not too sad this week, for once. My favourite story was about International Day of Happiness! It's great having a day to celebrate the things that make us happy. At school we all wore yellow (although I don't have any yellow clothes so had to borrow a dress from my mum!) and we all told our favourite joke. It was fun hearing Laurie, Aiza and Zara's jokes too on the podcast.

It was also good to hear about Wilfried Zaha's campaign for free musical instruments in school. I completely agree with this campaign and think music is very important. I play the violin and the harp - I think it might be tricky if everyone was given a free harp however! and very expensive! It's really good that famous footballers can draw attention to education in this way, in the same way that Marcus Rashford has done with this free school meals campaign.

I really enjoyed hearing Zara's review of Private Peaceful and can't wait to read it myself - I'm hopefully going to be able to get a copy of the book over Spring Break. I just read Adolphus Tips, another Michael Morpurgo book, in my class at school and it was brilliant.
