22 February 2021 Blog: my week in the news

Why is the news important to me? What did I learn this week?

I enjoyed learning about the Covax vaccine scheme this week, it's good that countries with plenty of vaccines and money can share these with poorer countries. I don't think there is much point otherwise in only a few countries vaccinating their people, if the rest of the world doesn't or isn't able to. I'm glad the UK is doing so well with its vaccine programme - both my grandparents have now had their vaccines which is really reassuring!

It was sad to hear that Harry and Meghan definitely won't be returning to their royal roles, however, I thought they were really great as part of the royal family. I'd like to watch the interview on 7th March although i don't think my parents will let me!

It was great to celebrate World Thinking Day - I used to be in the Brownies and really enjoyed it, it was a shame our meetings had to stop due to coronavirus. But this year's theme of Peacebuilding is a really important and i'm glad World Thinking Day was used to highlight the importance of this.
