Why is the news important to me? What did I learn this week?

Another week of pandemic news. The Oxford Astrazeneca vaccine is being tested on children and I was glad to hear that it might be developed so that it can be taken as a spray or pill. Most adults do not like being jabbed in the arm so imagine how children would feel when they eventually start receiving the vaccine. I am terrified of getting jabbed in the arm so, imagine how others feel. I know that children cannot have the vaccine yet but I do think we will all eventually have to - once they prove it is safe to! The Queen and Prince Phillip received their first dose of the Covid vaccine a while ago and this week the Queen urged people to be vaccinated. I think this is a fantastic step that the Queen has taken as she is very influential and respected in the UK and it might convince people who are unsure about taking the vaccine to actually take it.

Another news story I enjoyed was how dinosaurs were suddenly wiped out by asteroids. Imagine if dinosaurs were not killed - they would still be alive at this moment. It would be fascinating to actually see them. However every cloud has a silver lining - dinosaurs were very fierce so they would have eaten us all for dinner.

Rose gave us a fabulous review about the Ickabog, one of my favourite books. I am a big fan of the Harry Potter books and although this book has nothing to do with Harry Potter, I really enjoyed reading it during lockdown when J.K Rowling made it available on the website. I do love the way J.K. Rowling writes her books and really recommend them to other children.
