10 November 2020 Blog: my week in the news

This week has been so exciting for news - I have really enjoyed following the reports about the US Election. Every morning i have woken up and checked the newspaper to see if a winner has been chosen - then finally at the weekend it was announced that Joe Biden was the winner. I am pleased for him has he has tried twice before, so it's good news that he gets a chance to be President.

I also enjoyed learning about Bonfire Night and hope I will be able to take part in this in the UK next year, it sounds really fun and I've never been to a Bonfire Night as it is not celebrated here in the UAE. It was a shame we could not do our usual Remembrance Sunday ceremony at school - usually we all stand together in the foyer for the two minute silence, but we could not do it this year due to Coronavirus.

It has been worrying reading about Coronavirus in the UK and how it is getting worse there. I can't believe there is another lockdown there, but at least schools are open this time. I really hope the vaccine scientists manage to find one that works very very soon. I can't believe 2020 is coming to an end and I really hope that 2021 will be a much better year!
