Blog: my week in the news

I liked learning about this week’s news! The week before was very sad but this week the news stories were happy and interesting. I liked learning about the history of Mothering Sunday which I didn’t know about before. April Fool’s Day was funny too, there were lots of funny jokes this year. I liked the ones that Nusaybah talked about on the podcast - in particular i wish i could have the Unicorn box from Hello Fresh, that sounded amazing! Also a newspaper in England reported that Britain would make a new set of coins with emoji designs! And Lego created a really funny idea for an app that would let you find a particular Lego brick you are looking for in a box of Lego. It was a really good idea so I was disappointed it was just a joke!

I enjoyed chatting to Zara about packed lunches at school. Last term at school my mum made packed lunches for me, but I asked to switch back to school lunches from next term. My mum’s lunches were ok but I preferred school lunches!! We get lots of choice of hot food and it’s always yummy. We sit with our class and our teacher to eat. I’d like to learn cooking at school though, that would be fun. My grandmother used to be a cookery teacher and we always enjoy cooking at home. My favourite thing to make are smoothies for breakfast and I love decorating cakes and cupcakes too.  Do you enjoy cooking? What's your favourite thing to make?
