Why is the news important to me? What did I learn this week?

This week we had some really weird news ! My favourite news story this week was about laboratory-grown burgers! Just thinking about it makes me hungry! I think it’s a great idea because if we can grow more burgers in laboratories it will reduce a lot the impact that animals that are grown for food make on the environment. Apparently scientists are also working on growing chicken and seafood too. Maybe we won’t need real animals for food in the future, what do you think? It is so important to eat healthily though, and stay fit and active. It was funny when Zara was so surprised because I don't like chocolate and pizza! I do love sweets and ice cream though, I think it's ok to have treats once in a while.

I love learning about science and technology, and so I was really interested in the stories this week about the Malaria vaccine which is helping prevent children die from a terrible disease, and also about Astrobees at the International Space Station - they sound so cute, I wish I could have Astrobees at home to help me with my jobs!

It was sad though to hear about the cyclones in Mozambique and India. It made me feel devastated that so many families have lost their homes because of Cyclone Kenneth and before that Cyclone Idai. It must be awful to have your home torn down in a storm. I wonder if this terrible weather is because of climate change? I wonder if there will be more cyclones now because of greenhouse gases. I really hope not. I'm very worried about climate change.
