6 October 2021 Blog: my week in the news

Hi everyone! Welcome back to NewzKidz. I hope you have all had a fantastic summer break. We are now back with Season 4 and we hope you enjoy it as much as the last three seasons.

After two years of no travel, having managed to spend some of the summer in the UK, I was particularly upset, when I recently read about the fuel crisis there. I could not quite believe it. I have never in my life heard about shortages of fuel or, for that matter, anything else in the UK! Now we keep reading many worrying stories about shortages there.

I enjoyed hearing about both National Poetry Day and the volcanic eruptions. We have been making models of volcanos at my school’s STEM club and using vinegar and cornflour to create an eruption. It’s been a lot of fun! The poem that the National Poetry Society has suggested for school children reminded me of the book Tiddler by Julia Donaldson! I do enjoy reading poems but, unlike my sister, I don’t really read them for leisure. Perhaps I should do!
