29 April 2022 Blog: my week in the news

Hi everyone, I hope you have all had a great spring holiday. I am very happy to be back with our podcast.

I feel quite sad that a couple of weeks have passed and the conflict between Ukraine and Russia is continuing. I wish that they would come to an agreement and all this suffering would stop.

I was quite surprised to learn about the fines that the UK Prime Minister and the Chancellor have received. It is very hard to understand how such important people who are important members of the government could break rules and receive fines by the police for attending a party at a time when lots of other people in the country couldn’t even see other members of their family. It feels very wrong and very unfair. Maybe Mr Johnson and Mr Sunak think that they are better than everyone else and they can break the rules!

This week I really enjoyed reviewing the movie Turning Red. One of my favourite parts was when Mei Lee, who is the main character, turned into a red panda and her friends saw her for the first time. I laughed a lot when I saw their faces!
