20 October 2021 Blog: my week in the news

This week we covered some sad news stories – the deaths of two politicians. I had not heard of Colin Powell before and covering the story about his death, I also learnt about the US invasion of Iraq in 2001. I was very upset about the stabbing of Sir David Amess. He must have gone to hold his surgery and meet his constituents in his usual way as he had done thousands of times before – and he never came back!

It was interesting hearing a bit more about World Food Day. I have been trying very hard this year to avoid food waste and it was good to hear about other ways in which we can do more to support this cause.

My favourite story this week was about the miniature paintings that can fit in the eye of a needle! That is absolutely amazing! I would love to see them!
