Why is the news important to me? What did I learn this week?

Hello everyone! This week was an exciting week - not just because it was my birthday (I am 8 now!) but because there was lots of interesting news to read about. I was surprised how quickly the Queen agreed a plan for Harry and Meghan - I feel like she should definitely have been in charge of Brexit! It's sad though that they are leaving the Royal Family. I hope they are able to enjoy a quieter life in the future. Speaking of Brexit, I can't believe this is happening next week. It sounds like a big moment but at the same time because of the transition period I'm not really sure anything is going to happen straight away. I hope the politicians and leaders can get everything decided in the transition period. They can always ask the Queen to help out!

I enjoyed learning about internet cookies and why they are called cookies (you will need to listen to the podcast to find out!). In particular though it was really interesting to hear Zara talk about Martin Luther King Day. I knew about Rosa Parks and a little bit about what she did but I didn't know about Martin Luther King. I'm glad there is a Day in America to remember him and all the important things he said and believed.
