18 November 2021 Blog: my week in the news

We’ve been talking a lot about climate change and this week really made me realise how important it is. Imagine your school being closed because of pollution! It’s not something I had ever imagined could happen before. I was glad to hear that India has committed to become carbon neutral – although 2070 is a long time away. How much damage will be done before then?

We often cover awareness days on NewzKidz but this week it was one of my favourites! World Kindness Day – the day to be kind to each other, to yourself and to the world. It was also Anti-Bullying week and I think it is so important to raise awareness of this subject and keep reminding everyone about it.

I was quite surprised when YouTube removed the dislikes a video would get publicly but the owner still gets to see it. In the spirit of kindness and World Kindness Day, I think that the dislike function should be completely removed so the owner and viewers can only see the number of likes and not dishearten the owner by showing him or her how many people disliked the video.
