Why is the news important to me? What did I learn this week?

The Coronavirus is very worrying for some people in some countries still, but overall it is getting a little bit better. I'm getting used to the lockdown restrictions and feel happy because i can spend time with my family. I'm missing school and my friends a lot but I know that at some point i will be able to see them again.  I was surprised that obesity may be making the virus worse for some people, but it's good they know about it now so they can help people manage their weight and eat healthily.

It was interesting to hear about Brexit again after a long break! I'd kind of forgotten about Brexit with all the talk of the virus. I can't believe that now they've finally left the EU, they can't agree on any deals! I hope they do get an extension to give them more time to sort things out.

Finally it was really good news that scientists may have found a way to stop coral reefs turning white from polluted or warm water, called coral bleaching.  I'd like to see the Great Barrier Reef but I don't think i would actually want to go there, i'm too scared of being eaten by sharks!
