18 March 2022 Blog: my week in the news

I hope you enjoy the podcast this week. My favourite piece is the review of Encanto. I haven’t actually watched it yet but I have heard about it from lots of my friends and I am really looking forward to watching it now!

On the other hand, I was really sad to hear about the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine. At least there is some hope that they might reach an agreement. Lots of people have been worried that this might become a bigger fight with other countries involved too and I have been really worried about that too. I am hopeful that the fighting might stop as the Ukranian President has acknowledged that Ukraine will not be a part of NATO.

I felt incredibly sad hearing about Ms Zaghari-Ratcliffe’s imprisonment and how she hadn’t been able to see her daughter in person for so many years. How happy they must all be now that Ms Zaghari-Ratcliffe has been released and reunited with her family!
