Why is the news important to me? What did I learn this week?

I was pleased to learn about Greta Thunberg's award this week, I think its amazing how much she has done to help the planet and she is only 16 years old. I really hope I can do as much some day! All the sad news stories about climate change and how our planet is being damaged by humans make me worried, like over-fishing and why so many plants are becoming extinct. I'm glad Greta is trying to do something about it, I'm trying too by recycling and picking-up litter and trying not to buy too much plastic, but I think we need to do more.

It was good though to talk about The Kidz Bookshelf this week! Zara and I started this because we love reading books and our parents thought it would be good for us to have an online book club where we can talk about the books we've read and write reviews. So far I've read Mary Poppins and Tom's Midnight Garden, and I'm reading The Borrowers at the moment. I don't know what to read next thought, its far too hard to choose!I started to read a book called What Katy Did but it was too sad at the beginning when the mummy died so I didn't want to read any more.I like the sound of A Series of Unfortunate Events that Zara talked about although it might be too scary for me?! I might choose Mold and The Poison Plot as it sounds fun, I'll let you know soon! You can join our book club at www.thekidzbookshelf.com. See you there!
