Why is the news important to me? What did I learn this week?

This week my favourite news story was the British Science Week story. Science is truly amazing because without it we would have no idea about this virus and have no vaccines. Science has helped us a lot during this pandemic and I have realised that we must cherish it.  Scientists have worked and are continuing to work very hard trying develop new vaccines and a way out of this terrible nightmare. I love British Science Week because people are able to explore science and have some fun.

There has been so much drama after the Duke and Duchess’ interview with Oprah Winfrey. Meghan Markle and Prince Harry spoke a lot about how difficult they found life in the royal family and everyone was wondering how the royal family would respond. In my opinion, I thought they would immediately claim that everything that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex said was lie but instead Buckingham Palace issued a statement to say that the family was saddened to learn how challenging the last few years had been for Harry and Meghna and that they would address the issues raised privately. They did say “recollections may vary” though!  I think this was a very clever way of responding as if they had said that it was all lies, there would be more fights. I do wonder what is going to happen next though!

It was Mother’s Day today and we all celebrated by giving our mothers something special. I enjoyed learning about the origins of Mother’s Day both in the UK and the US.
