11 May 2020 Blog: my week in the news

The virus situation is still very worrying but it was good to hear this week that the lockdown restrictions are easing a little bit, at least in some countries like the UK. I really hope children will be allowed to go out soon, here in Dubai I've been at home for more than 8 weeks now and I really miss going outside and seeing my friends. It was interesting to learn about VE Day, I can imagine just a little bit how people must have felt when they realised they'd beaten the Nazis. It's a bit like beating the virus, maybe we will feel just as happy when we finally beat it! I really hope scientists find a vaccine soon. It was good that Banksy did a special picture showing a nurse as a superhero, it was a really good idea and I hope it raises lots of money for the NHS!
