Why is the news important to me? What did I learn this week?

I am still hoping that I will wake up one morning to the news that the pandemic is over but unfortunately Coronavirus is still continuing to spread and I am a bit worried about it especially now as lockdowns are being lifted. I cannot believe that America has passed 100,000 deaths in less than four months! That is a shocking figure. No wonder the American President is focusing on the WHO and accusing it of failing in its basic duty in its response to this pandemic. Many people, including President Trump, think that it’s China’s fault that this virus has spread and as a result life has changed so much all over the world. It is interesting that China has actually accused America of being responsible for the spread of the virus on its own soil. China could have a point and maybe the US should have been better prepared or maybe China is just trying to change the subject so people can stop blaming them. I don’t really care now who is responsible – I just want it to be over.   I miss my normal life, actually going to school and actually seeing my friends and teachers.

All of this news about Coronavirus has been really worrying and sad. So, it was nice to hear about JK Rowling’s new book. I am looking forward to reading it! I also really enjoyed learning about Space X’s second attempt to send two NASA astronauts to the International Space Station (ISS). If I was one of them, I would be very nervous. They are very experienced astronauts so probably aren’t nervous at all!
